Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders-October 27, 2026-6-8 PM

This continuing nursing education activity is designed to enhance the nurse's understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).  The activity will focus on defining ASD, recognizing common characteristics and presentations, and identifying the impact of ASD on communication, behavior, and healthcare experiences.  Learners will explore evidence-based, patient-centered approaches to support individuals with ASD and their families, with an emphasis on promoting safe, inclusive, and effective care in healthcare settings. Presenter: Shannon Sousa, MS, CC-SLP, ATP Director of Assistive Technology for the Community Autism Resource Center, Taunton, MA  The Massachusetts Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
